Instructor & Advisory Board Member

Mindful Jungian Play & Sandplay Therapy $59

This two hour course explores how the intersection of seminal and historical theories of both Jungian Play Therapy and Sandplay naturally harmonize with mindfulness-based practices.

Children naturally use metaphor to share meaning through behavioral and emotional expression in the playroom. This course will invite participants to cultivate therapeutic presence with clients through an

experiential mindfulness exercise. Anchored in present moment awareness, the instructor will then begin to guide participants through an exploration of the use and meaning of Jungian and Sandplay theory, symbolic figures, and dynamic play themes.

Upon completion of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Name three aspects of Jungian Play Therapy and Sandplay Therapy that are unique among play therapy seminal theories.
  • Describe how the definition of mindfulness naturally fits with the essence of the practice of Jungian Play Therapy and Sandplay.
  • List three ways metaphor is used therapeutically in Play Therapy and Sandplay.
  • Enumerate three reasons that using sand, symbolic figures, and projective play in a session can provide the client with an experience of mindfulness.
