Mindfulness and Child Centered Play Therapy $59

The foundation of Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) is the establishment and maintaining of an authentic therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. This two hour course examines the natural parallels of CCPT and mindfulness-based practices with the use of quality of present-moment attunement, authentic tracking, and reflecting techniques in the playroom.

This course will invite participants to cultivate therapeutic presence with clients through an experiential mindfulness exercise. Then, anchored in present moment awareness, the instructor will guide participants through an exploration of how CCPT allows for children to experience acceptance, non-judgment, and natural growth and healing through play as the change-agent.

Upon completion of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Examine and discuss key tenets of Child Centered Play Therapy and mindful presence in the play therapy relationship.
  • Identify relational interoception of CCPT materials for the purposes of child centered play therapy.
  • Differentiate between the developmental stages of children and understand the importance of play and its impact on children's cognitive, social-emotional, sensory, and physical growth.
  • 4)Identify and demonstrate an understanding of the role of the CCPT therapist in the context caregiver/familial relationships.
